How to Prepare Logo Files for Custom Apparel Production
Better logo files make custom apparel sampling and production faster, with fewer color, size and placement revisions.
Vector files are usually best
AI, EPS, PDF or SVG files are easier to scale for printing and embroidery. They help keep edges clean and reduce artwork preparation time.
If only a JPG or PNG is available, higher resolution is better, but the factory may still need to redraw the file.
Confirm color references
Screen colors can look different from fabric colors. If exact brand color matters, provide Pantone, CMYK or a physical reference when possible.
For embroidery, thread color choices may not perfectly match digital colors, so close matching should be confirmed.
Specify size and position
Logo width, chest position, sleeve position and back print size should be confirmed before sampling.
A simple mockup with placement notes can prevent many production misunderstandings.
Keep artwork records for reorders
Once a design is approved, keep the artwork version, size and placement record. This helps future repeat orders stay consistent.
Youdanna Apparel can help organize logo files for T-shirts, workwear, polo shirts, jackets and promotional apparel.
